Look carefully at the stern. Was the back of the hull cut on the outside of the boat to replace the transom and then re-glassed in place by a prior owner? If so, you don't want the boat. This is not the proper way to repair the transom, particularly on this type of boat, on which you will hang a powerful engine. Look for the VIN number on the back of the boat. Write it down and preserve it. From I believe 1970ish it should be imprinted in the gel coat on the stern. |
